Born as project looking at families swapping houses based on similar accessibility needs, the pandemic meant this aspect of the project had to be put on the back burner. But we could still build a network and share useful information!
Every family will have knowledge of accessible activities, local hospitality that may have a discount or learning disability awareness training and other important information that can turn a families day from being a nightmare to a great day out – so why not share that knowledge?
There are already incredibly tools out there that can be used to support to organise an accessible family day out, such as Euan’s Guide – a accessibility reviewing platform with whom we are partnering for this branch of the project. Discover their website here: https://www.euansguide.com/
Now, we have a Facebook Group where we are starting to share useful information and build the network – why not join us?! Click here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/staycationcommunitywales
We have created together with a parent carer and Euan’s Guide a video guide on how to review to support you get started on this journey – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtGBz_fry0I
